London Fashion Week 2009

The show

Scotland's star designer, 26-year-old Glaswegian Christopher Kane, who has been shying away from the body-hugging look with which he made his name. Getting into Vivienne Westwood Red Label is always a scrum, but guaranteed lots of famous names on the front row; last season's show attracted Kate Moss and Pamela Anderson.

The designer

Names to watch include Mark Fast, the 27-year-old experimental knitwear designer from Canada , and London-based fashion duo Meadham Kirchhoff, whose rock chic aesthetic translates into punky ripped jeans and gothic lace pieces.

The model

18-year-old Worcester-born Emma Maclaren, who has already walked for Marc Jacobs, Jil Sander and Givenchy, appeared in both Harper's Bazaar and Glamour, and will be on the cover of L'Officiel. Big things are predicted of 19-year-old Eden Clark, who was talent-spotted at the Isle of Wight festival and in November did her first cover for British Vogue.

The party

Henry Holland's after-party is always a big draw for London's scenesters and club kids. Last year, Agyness Deyn, Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof and Andre 3000 did the conga round the Bloomsbury ballroom. Alternatively, next Monday the V&A is launching its new exhibition, Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones , with a hot-ticket event. Dress code: 'decorate your head'.

The front row

Twenty8Twelve. For the first time, Sienna and Savannah Miller present a collection (their fifth) at LFW . Expect close personal celebrity friends to overrun the to be confirmed venue in WC1. More fashion-credible will be Luella, who was named Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in November.

The shop

Dover Street Market will be even more of a fashionista meeting place. For one week only, the basement of Mayfair's avant-garde fashion store is selling limited edition pieces from LFW names, including knickers from Prada and Stella McCartney (who has produced a different pair for every day of the Week), and House of Holland T-shirts featuring the naked shot of Beth Ditto taken from Love, Katie Grand's new fashion magazine (17-18 Dover Street, London W1).

The hangout

Double Club, the artist Carsten Hoeller's art installation-cum-Congolese bar-cum-restaurant based around a pretty courtyard in Islington, north London. Fashion plates will love it: not only is it supported by Prada, it is also limited-edition – it's only open until May.
